Lack of Fusion in Aluminum Welding and Improving Fusion through Advanced Waveform Control Technology

G. Doria & J. Zhang

Presented At:
CWA Conference 2012

As a result of aluminum’s relatively high thermal conductivity, lack of fusion can be a common issue and can be affected by a number of common welding variables. The study will investigate the effects of lack of fusion on weld strength. Finally, the paper will evaluate the latest waveform control technology including Pulse and Power Mode™ and demonstrate the advantages.
