CanWeld Conference 2017

The North American economies are strongly linked and the welding sector and related industries are no exception. The USA and Canada have their own national standards that are used by the welding sector which are similar in many ways but also have some unique differences. This session will provide an overview of the key welding codes and standards in use in the USA and in Canada, as well the related design and fabrication codes and standards for structural steel in each country. Typical applications of these welding code & standards to structural projects will be reviewed, including the various roles and responsibilities of key parties in projects as defined by the two national approaches. A more detailed review of AWS D1.1 and CSA W47.1/W59 will also be provided as well as an open Q&A session.
