Resistance welding is widely used in the auto industry. Is fume collection needed? Many welders assume the answer is no since it does not produce the volume of visible fumes common to stick welding methods. But resistance welding can still produce dangerous fumes—especially when welding galvanized steel or coated metals commonly used in automotive.
