Client Notice: Beware of Unauthorized Welding Schools and Fraudulent ÒõAPPµ¼º½s
To our valued clients and partners,
At the Canadian Welding Bureau (ÒõAPPµ¼º½), we are committed to ensuring the highest standards of education and certification in the welding industry, and we want to protect both aspiring welders and employers from fraudulent practices.
It has come to our attention that Ìýrecently new welding schools have surfaced which are falsely claiming to offer CWB training and issue CWB qualifications. These institutions are misleading students and industry members about the nature of their programs and welder qualifications. Ìý
Please keep in mind:
- CWB Qualifications: Only the ÒõAPPµ¼º½ can issue legitimate welder qualifications, as per CSA standards. Most CWB issued Welder Qualifications, need to be renewed every two years.ÌýÌý
- Accredited Institutions: There are accredited institutions that offer welding programs and will offer test days overseen by CWB staff. These institutions are accredited by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities and provide a structured curriculum with hands on training. For more information, visit:
- Permanent Residency and CWB Welder Qualifications: A CWB welder qualification will not guarantee permanent residency.Ìý Be aware of training facilities that make promises about ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýCanadian Citizenship
- Fraudulent Certificates: Beware, of fraudulent certificates implying,Ìý welder qualifications have been met, with CWB/Training School logo falsely displayed on the certificate.Ìý These are NOT CWB Welder Qualifications.
If something sounds too good to be true, or just does not feel right, do not proceed.Ìý If you are unsure about the legitimacy of a school or a qualification you received, please contact us directly for verification at 1-800-844-6790. Protect yourself and your business from fraudulent practices and ensure that your qualifications are recognized and valued by the industry.
